Third Friends of Laurence’s Larder Supper Club a Record Success

Thursday 4th September marked the third in our Friends of Laurence’s Larder Supper Club series — this time hosted by Charlie Bigham and 1 Lombard Street.

Through our partnership with City Harvest, we often receive surplus Charlie Bigham’s meals and ingredients, so it was a real honour to welcome Charlie himself into our (notoriously tiny!) Larder kitchen to cook a feast.

The evening began with legendary 1 Lombard Street Martinis and an oyster bar courtesy of Wright Brothers, followed by a three-course meal and a silent auction. Thanks to Charlie’s generous support, the event raised an incredible £18,500, all going directly towards our vital services.

We are also grateful to Rekki and Penshurst Fine Foods for donating beautiful ingredients (including sides of salmon for the elderflower-cured starter), chefs Hamish Brown, Martin Caws and our own Jas Singh for their culinary support, Burnt Fen Flowers for the stunning arrangements, Jane Williams for the finishing touches, and Vera’s for providing local sourdough.

Our thanks also go to the many generous businesses and individuals who donated prizes to the silent auction, including Manolo Blahnik, Me+Em, Banya Belgravia, Merit, Erris Lannan House, 1 Lombard Street, Dirty Dog Washes, Whatever Sweats, Lucy Keaveny Coaching, Ruha Jewellery, Our Place, The Three Horseshoes Batcombe, Matthew Donaldson Studio, Kilburn My Road and Narrow Water Castle.

Finally, a huge thank you to Hannah Moorish and Flora Montgomery for masterminding the evening, and to our brilliant volunteers who make everything possible.
